Took second in my division at the 2012 Master/Senior Worlds; the last Master/Senior Worlds to be held at the famous Tijuca Tenis Club in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I'm very pleased with the outcome, although I learned I have a lot to work on. I'll post more later... OSS.
congrats!!! experience of a lifetime!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rowdy. Won two and lost in the final. Won first fight by judges decision. How a gringo won a decision over a brazilian in Rio is beyond me... Whew. (Actually...it had to be because of the arm lock from triangle guard attempt. The guy almost tapped. Almost...). Won second fight 14-0. Walk in the park. Had multiple submission opportunities but I took the safe route. Got my elbow popped in the final. The guy was a beast. Lifetime judo competitor. Black belt. Said he switched to BJJ four years ago. He's been a blue belt almost twice as long as I've been training. :)
